Returns to Syria are continuing following the collapse of the Bashar al-Assad regime in the country.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has issued a call to Syrian refugees preparing to return to their country. In a post on his social media account, Scholz stated that "some statements made in recent days have deeply unsettled our citizens of Syrian origin," and addressed Syrians in Germany, saying, "Those who work here and are well-integrated will continue to be welcome in Germany. This is very clear."
