German Chancellor Scholz's prediction on Harris and the US elections
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated regarding US Vice President Kamala Harris's nomination for the presidency, "I think it is very likely that Kamala Harris will win the election."
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has made statements regarding Vice President Kamala Harris, whom he expressed support for following US President Joe Biden's withdrawal from the election race.
While describing Harris as a "competent and experienced" politician capable of winning the US elections, Scholz did not explicitly endorse her. Scholz said, "The election campaign in the US will certainly be exciting now with a somewhat new lineup and a new team. I think it is very likely that Kamala Harris will win the election, but the US voters will decide that."
Stating that he has met with Harris several times, Scholz said, "Harris is a competent and experienced politician who knows very well what she is doing. She knows what she wants and what she can do."
Scholz said that he would work in the best possible way with whoever wins the elections to be held in the US in November. When asked if he, like Biden, would consider giving up on running for re-election, Scholz jokingly replied, "Thank you for that nice and friendly question."
