Germany condemns attack on Turkey's Consulate General in Hannover: Will the attackers be found?

Germany has condemned in the strongest possible terms the attack on Turkey's Consulate General in Hannover, which is believed to have been carried out by supporters of the terrorist organization PKK.

Deputy Spokesperson for the German Foreign Ministry Christian Wagner stated in a press briefing in Berlin, "We condemn the attack on the Turkish Consulate General in Hannover in the strongest possible terms. Violence, no matter where it comes from, has no place in our society, and this, of course, applies especially to those under special protection."

Responding to a question from an AA reporter, Wagner noted that they are in contact with the Turkish side regarding the matter, stating, "We hope that the perpetrators will be identified as soon as possible and held criminally accountable. The investigation is still ongoing. We condemn this attack in the strongest possible terms. The incident must be clarified as soon as possible and those responsible must be brought to justice."

Deputy Spokesperson for the Interior Ministry Cornelius Funke also stated that security authorities are closely monitoring the incident, adding, "Security authorities are doing everything in their power to prevent violent attacks against all institutions and all groups in our country."

Last night in Hannover, PKK supporters who were holding a march in support of the terrorist organization arrived at Turkey's Consulate General in Hannover and attempted to break the building's windows with hard objects. The attackers fled after cracking the glass at the building's main entrance.
