Germany issues statement on temporary border controls and visas
The German Embassy in Ankara has announced that the temporary border controls to be implemented at Germany's borders for security and migration policy reasons will not affect the visa issuance process in Turkey.
In a post shared on the official X account of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ankara, it was stated: “As of today, temporary border controls will be carried out at German borders for security and migration policy reasons.
These controls will allow for the denial of entry to individuals who do not have permission to enter the country. This measure is in compliance with EU law and has been announced in advance to Schengen partners.
The primary goal of this decision is to ensure safe, orderly, and legal entry into Germany. Traveling between borders is, of course, still possible, and care will be taken to ensure that waiting times do not occur.
The visa issuance process for Turkey will continue to operate normally and will not be affected by this situation,” the statement said.
