Germany has reacted to US President Donald Trump's decision to impose special customs tariffs on European countries due to their stance on the Greenland issue.

In a written statement issued by German Government Spokesperson Stefan Kornelius, it was stated that Germany has taken note of Trump's announcement regarding customs tariffs.

Spokesperson Kornelius reported that Germany is in close consultation with its European partners following Trump's statements. The spokesperson used the phrase, "We will determine the responses at the appropriate time."

Trump had announced that a 10 percent additional customs tariff would be applied to Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, and Finland starting from February 1.
