Google map error 'favors Harris': Musk reacts
Google faced criticism after a map feature showed voters where they could vote for Kamala Harris, while failing to provide a similar map for Donald Trump.
When a voter typed 'Where can I vote for Kamala Harris?' into Google on their phone, Google responded with a map showing the nearest polling station.

However, when searching for 'Where can I vote for Donald Trump?', no such map appears, and the user is asked to enter their exact address.

Instead of a voting location, the question 'Where can I vote for Trump' produces results for election-related articles from CNN and NBC.

Elon Musk reacted to the situation on X following complaints from his followers. His followers joined in his comments, stating that this was proof that left-leaning big tech companies were interfering with the outcome of the election.

STATEMENT FROM GOOGLE
Following the backlash, Google stated that the 'Where to vote' panel appeared in some specific searches because there is a county named 'Harris' in Texas.

The company announced shortly after that the issue had been resolved.

Musk accepted Google's explanation, replying, "Thanks for the clarification."
However, the obvious error made by Google led many Trump supporters to comment that the tech giant was trying to influence the presidential election.
