Grain crisis between Ukraine and Israel
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha reacted to Israel for accepting grain obtained from Russian-occupied Ukrainian territories, stating, "We once again warn Israel against accepting stolen grain and damaging our bilateral relations."
A grain crisis has erupted between Ukraine and Israel. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha reacted to Israel for accepting grain obtained from Russian-occupied Ukrainian territories.
Sybiha stated, "Friendly Ukrainian-Israeli relations have the potential to benefit both countries, and the illegal trade Russia conducts with stolen Ukrainian grain should not undermine these relations.
It is difficult to understand why Israel did not provide an appropriate response to Ukraine's legitimate request regarding the previous ship that delivered stolen goods to Haifa.
Now, with another ship of the same nature reaching Haifa, we once again warn Israel against accepting stolen grain and damaging our bilateral relations. In this context, we have officially summoned the Israeli Ambassador to the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs tomorrow morning to present our protest note and demand that the necessary steps be taken."
The first Russian-flagged dry cargo ship, named ABINSK, which was alleged to be carrying Ukrainian grain, reached the Israeli city of Haifa on April 12 and departed on April 15. Ukraine had called on Israel to seize the vessel in question. It was claimed that the ship was carrying 43 thousand tons of grain. Ukraine announced that another Russian ship arrived in Haifa today carrying Ukrainian grain.
