Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis welcomes Turkish tourists: 'New islands will be added'
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis welcomed Turkish tourists who traveled to the island of Lesbos under the "visa-on-arrival" program. Mitsotakis stated that new islands will be added to the "visa-on-arrival" program at the end of April.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the island of Lesbos, located across from Ayvalık, yesterday.
Receiving information from officials regarding the "visa-on-arrival" program that began on April 1, Mitsotakis welcomed the Turkish tourists disembarking from the "Eşref Jale" ferry at the island's port and chatted with them for a while.
"A CONCRETE RESULT OF THE RAPPROCHEMENT"
In his speech there, Mitsotakis announced that 5 more islands would be added at the end of April to the "visa-on-arrival" program, which was initially implemented for 5 islands, stating, "This program is a concrete result of the rapprochement in Turkish-Greek relations."
The "visa-on-arrival" program, which has been in effect since April 1 on the islands of Rhodes, Lesbos, Kos, Samos, and Chios, will be implemented on the islands of Symi, Kastellorizo, Patmos, Leros, and Kalymnos at the end of April.
COMING TO TURKEY
On the other hand, Mitsotakis said he would meet with President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara on May 13.
