Grim toll from Hurricane Helene hitting the US

Hurricane Helene, which struck the US, has paralyzed life. The number of people who lost their lives due to the hurricane, which was effective in the states of Florida and Georgia, has risen to 20.

While numerous neighborhoods were submerged due to the heavy rainfall caused by the hurricane, more than 4 million homes and businesses were left without electricity.

The Category 4 hurricane caused boats and trees to topple, and vehicles and streets to be submerged. In the city of Atlanta, Georgia, security forces carried out numerous evacuation operations due to flooding.

9 PEOPLE RESCUED

In a statement made by the National Weather Service, flash flood warnings were issued for various neighborhoods in the states of Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina, stating, “This is an especially dangerous situation. Move to higher ground now.” The US National Hurricane Center (NHC) stated that storm surges, winds, and heavy rainfall are continuing. The US Coast Guard announced that 9 people who were swept away by currents due to the hurricane have been rescued.

Florida's emergency management director, Kevin Guthrie, said, “I am begging you, do not go out. We have 1,500 search and rescue personnel in the affected areas. Please get out of our way so we can do our jobs.”
