Hamas announces death toll of Haniyeh's family members in Israeli strike has risen to 7

Hamas issued a written statement regarding the attack carried out by Israel on a vehicle carrying several members of the Haniyeh family in the Al-Shati Refugee Camp, west of Gaza City.

The statement noted that the vehicle, in which Haniyeh's family members were traveling to celebrate the holiday with camp residents and relatives, was targeted, resulting in all occupants being killed or wounded.

It was reported that in the "treacherous and cowardly" attack carried out on the first day of Eid al-Fitr in the Shati Refugee Camp, Haniyeh's children Hazem, Amir, and Mohammed, as well as his grandchildren Muna, Amal, Khaled, and Rezzan, lost their lives.

It was stated that those who lost their lives in the attack stood on the same front as the Palestinian people and joined the ranks of those who lost their lives in the "Al-Aqsa Flood," alongside approximately 60 other members of the Haniyeh family who had been killed previously.

Evaluating Israel's targeting of Hamas leaders and their families as "nothing more than desperate attempts by a failing enemy on the ground, terrified by the defense of the Palestinian resistance," Hamas offered condolences for those who lost their lives.

It was emphasized that such attacks would fail to break the resistance will of Hamas and the Palestinian people and would only increase their determination in the struggle.

The statement further noted that this is an illusion that Israel will achieve success during negotiations by escalating its terror, war of genocide, and attacks on defenseless civilians.

FIRST STATEMENT FROM HANIYEH

According to information received from eyewitnesses, it was initially reported that 3 of Haniyeh's sons and 2 of his grandchildren were killed in the attack on a vehicle carrying many members of Haniyeh's family who were going to celebrate the holiday with residents and relatives of the Al-Shati Refugee Camp.

A written statement from the Gaza Government Media Office had also stated that 5 people lost their lives and many were injured in the attack.

Hamas Political Bureau Chief Haniyeh, in his statement following the attack, said, "His children did not leave Gaza and sacrificed their lives on the path to the liberation of Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque."
