Hamas responds to 'disarmament' claims

In a statement issued by Hamas, it was stated, "We reaffirm once again that resistance and its weapons are a national and legal right as long as the Israeli occupation continues. We will never abandon this right until all our national rights are restored, primarily the establishment of an independent and fully sovereign Palestinian State with Jerusalem as its capital."

Hamas responds to 'disarmament' claims

A response has come to the claims made by US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, who alleged that "Hamas expressed a willingness to disarm during ceasefire negotiations." In the statement issued by Hamas, it was stated, "We reaffirm once again that resistance and its weapons are a national and legal right, and that this right is recognized by international charters and conventions. We will never abandon this right until all our national rights are restored, primarily the establishment of an independent and fully sovereign Palestinian State with Jerusalem as its capital."

"NOTHING MORE THAN A THEATRICAL PERFORMANCE"

In a separate statement from Hamas, Witkoff's visit yesterday to a food distribution point belonging to the US-Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) was condemned. The statement said, "The visit is nothing more than a pre-arranged theatrical performance aimed at misleading public opinion, polishing the image of the occupation, and providing political cover to continue the systematic killing of children and unarmed civilians in the Gaza Strip and to manage starvation."

"THE US IS A PARTNER IN THE CRIME OF GENOCIDE"

Emphasizing that Witkoff's misleading statements and propaganda efforts attempting to portray aid distribution as peaceful contradict the realities on the ground, the statement noted, "More than 1,300 innocent people who were on the verge of starvation were shot and killed there by the bullets of the occupation army and the inhumane employees of the ‘Gaza Foundation,’ which was established to complete the chapters of killing and genocide. The US administration is a full partner in the crime of starvation and genocide taking place before the eyes of the entire world."

Calling on the US administration, the statement said, "We call on the US administration to assume its historical responsibility regarding the crime of the century in Gaza, to stop covering up this crime, and to move toward a ceasefire agreement that will ensure the end of the aggression, the withdrawal of the occupation army, and the lifting of the unjust siege on our people. Otherwise, standing in alignment with the policies of the occupation and its violations that shame humanity will only deepen the humanitarian catastrophe and perpetuate the conflict in Palestine and the region."
