Harris calls on Trump for live debate

As the U.S. presidential election approaches, Democratic presidential nominee and U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris continues to make statements directed at Trump. Harris stated that she is ready to debate Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on live television.

In a statement on Tuesday, Trump said he "absolutely" wanted to debate Harris and was "willing to do more than one debate," adding, "I haven't agreed to anything.

I agreed to a debate with Joe Biden. But I want to debate him and it's not going to be any different because they have the same policies. I think debating is important for the presidential race, I really do. You sort of have an obligation to debate,” he had said.

'WITHDRAW FROM THE RACE' CALLS HAD BEEN MADE

U.S.-based Fox News had proposed organizing a live televised debate between Trump and Harris on September 17. It was stated that the debate would take place in the swing state of Pennsylvania and would be moderated by Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Joe Biden, who withdrew from the presidential race, had faced calls to "withdraw from the candidacy" following his poor performance in the live televised debate he participated in with Trump on June 27.
