Has Noah's Ark been found? Scientists are examining a geological structure in Turkey

Researchers from Istanbul Technical University, Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University, and Andrews University in the US have been conducting studies in the region since 2021. The findings presented at the 7th International Symposium on Mount Ararat and Noah's Ark indicate that the structure may have been underwater 5,000 years ago.

The researchers analyzed 30 soil and rock samples taken from around the Durupınar Formation. Tests detected traces of marine life, such as marine sediments and mollusk remains, in the area. Dating of the samples revealed that they date back 3,500 to 5,000 years.

Prof. Faruk Kaya expressed his excitement about the discovery of the mound, stating the following:

''The initial results show that there was human activity in this region during the Chalcolithic Age. This supports the possibility that a major flood disaster occurred.''

FINDINGS AT DURUPINAR ALIGN WITH THE BIBLE

According to the Bible, Noah's Ark saved humanity and animals during a great flood. Scientists pointed out similarities between the dimensions mentioned in the Bible and the size of the Durupınar Formation. It was also emphasized that the structure's location near Mount Ararat aligns with the biblical narrative.

According to a report by the Daily Mail, some scientists have approached the theory with skepticism. Prof. Lorence Collins from California State University stated that the Durupınar Formation is a natural geological structure formed by landslide debris. Collins said, 'It takes millions of years for wood to petrify. It is not possible to find petrified ship remains from 5,000 years ago.'

The Mount Ararat and Noah's Ark Research Team stated that further investigation is needed in the region. The team is also continuing fundraising efforts to establish a visitor center.
