He exposed the dangers of fast food: Documentary filmmaker Spurlock has died

His family released a statement regarding Spurlock's death.

The statement noted that the documentary filmmaker Spurlock passed away yesterday in New York due to "complications from cancer."

"HE GAVE SO MUCH TO THE WORLD"

His brother, Craig Spurlock, said in a statement, "Morgan gave so much of himself in his art, ideas, and generosity. The world has lost a true creative genius and a special man. I am so proud to have worked together with him."

Morgan Spurlock consumed only McDonald's products for one month in his 2004 documentary "Super Size Me," which he filmed to illustrate the dangers of fast food.
