Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem: US-Iran agreement is a great victory
Regarding the memorandum of understanding expected to be signed between the US and Iran, Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem said, "We congratulate the Iranian people, their leadership, and everyone who supports freedom on this great victory. The goal of this war was to defeat the regime. This objective and the colonial plans against Iran have ended in failure."
Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem made an assessment regarding the memorandum of understanding expected to be signed between the US and Iran. Describing the agreement reached between the parties as a "great victory," Qassem said, "We congratulate the Iranian people, their leadership, and everyone who supports freedom on this great victory."
Regarding the joint attacks launched against Iran by Israel and the US on February 28, Qassem stated, "The goal of this war was to defeat the regime and lead to its collapse. This objective and the colonial plans against Iran have ended in failure."
Touching upon the negotiations between Israel and Lebanon, Qassem said that these contacts should be limited to "mutual security" and that Lebanon's primary demand is the establishment of its sovereignty.
Qassem stated, "The limit of negotiations with the enemy is mutual security. Any proposal under the heading of disarmament will not be valid because this is a method Israel uses to seize everything and destroy the country."
The Hezbollah leader said, "Every issue related to the regulation of our internal situation, including the arms issue, the economy, national security strategy, or defense strategy, must be kept completely outside of the negotiations. We will discuss these among ourselves. Therefore, the fundamental demand in any negotiation must be Lebanon's sovereignty."
