Hezbollah leader Qassem: We will remain vigilant and respond to violations

Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem made a statement regarding the 10-day ceasefire process declared between Israel and Lebanon. Qassem harshly criticized the U.S. State Department's statement on the ceasefire, saying, "This means nothing on a practical level and is an insult to our country. Everyone knows that the Lebanese government has not accepted or approved this statement."

Qassem also stated that they are open to cooperation with the Lebanese government, adding that a new page could be turned based on ensuring the country's national sovereignty and preventing internal conflicts.

Furthermore, emphasizing that the ceasefire should mean "a complete end to all hostilities," Qassem stressed that Israel's attacks in Lebanon would be met with a response. Qassem stated, "We do not trust this enemy. Hezbollah will remain on the ground, vigilant, and will respond to violations appropriately." Qassem also assessed that "The ceasefire is a process that must be implemented not only by the resistance but by both sides."

Full withdrawal of Israel from Lebanon demanded

Qassem also announced the steps that need to be taken for the process leading to peace following the ceasefire reached with Israel. The Hezbollah leader stated that the 10-day ceasefire cannot be sustained if both sides do not comply, expressing that for the ceasefire to continue, air, land, and sea attacks against Lebanon must end completely. Qassem also demanded that Israel withdraw completely from Lebanese territory.

The Hezbollah leader said that the next phase should focus on the release of prisoners held by Israel and the return of residents in border areas to their homes.

Qassem stated that the final phase would involve a large-scale reconstruction process with the international support of Arab countries.

U.S.: "Agreement will be reached on Israel's right to take measures"

In the U.S. State Department's statement regarding the ceasefire, it was noted that within the scope of the ceasefire reached between the parties, it is expected that Israel and Lebanon will agree that Israel reserves the right to take all necessary measures against attacks directed at it. The statement said, "This right will not be hindered by the ceasefire. Apart from this, Israel will not carry out any military activity in the form of attacks against civilian, military, and other state targets on Lebanese territory with its land, air, and sea assets."
