New details continue to emerge regarding the assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump. 

Speaking to the Associated Press (AP) news agency, two police officers who wished to remain anonymous stated that shortly before the assassination attempt, rally attendees noticed a person climbing onto the roof of a nearby building and alerted local police.

The two officers stated that a police official encountered the suspect while climbing onto the roof, that the suspect quickly fired a shot toward Trump, and was immediately shot by snipers thereafter.

ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT ON TRUMP

Former US President Trump, who is running for president for the Republican Party, was subjected to an armed attack while addressing his supporters from the podium at a rally in Pennsylvania.

It was reported that Trump, who was wounded in his right ear, is in good health.

In the attack, 1 person attending the rally died and 2 people were injured.

The US Secret Service announced that the attacker, who fired multiple shots at the location of the podium from an elevated position outside the rally area, had been neutralized.

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) defined the attack as an assassination attempt.

Following the investigations, the FBI announced that the person who carried out the assassination attempt and was killed at the scene was 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks.
