Houthis announce: US is preparing for a ground operation in Yemen
Jamal Amer, Foreign Minister in the Houthi-affiliated government, stated that the US is preparing for a ground operation in Yemen, emphasizing that such a move carries the danger of completely destabilizing the situation.
According to the SABA news agency, which belongs to the Houthis fighting against the US and Israel in Yemen, Amer met with Mari Yamashita, Deputy Head of the United Nations Mission to Support the Hodeidah Agreement (UNMHA), in the capital, Sanaa.
Amer stated, "The targeting of the Ras Issa Port in the city of Hodeidah in western Yemen and the bombing of health workers is a full-fledged war crime and must be investigated."
Drawing attention to the airstrikes carried out by the US, Amer said, "This situation shows that the US is preparing for a ground military operation and is pursuing a scorched-earth policy."
Noting that the situation must not be allowed to spiral out of control, Foreign Minister Jamal Amer said, "We are sending a message to the UN Secretary-General (Antonio Guterres) so that the situation does not spiral out of control." Amer warned that such a move 'carries the danger of completely destabilizing the situation.'
