Hungarian Foreign Minister Szijjarto warns: 'Preparations for a new world war are underway in Brussels'

Attending the EU Foreign and Defense Ministers Meeting, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto warned that the US, NATO, and the European Union (EU) are in a race to arm Ukraine, stating that this situation could lead to a world war.

"PREPARATIONS FOR A NEW WORLD WAR ARE INTENSIFYING"

Emphasizing that pro-war politicians in Europe want to close the gap following the US Congress's approval of an aid package for Ukraine, Szijjarto said, “Preparations for a new world war are intensifying in Brussels. Instead of strengthening peace and finding a diplomatic solution, the US, NATO, and the EU are in a race to arm Ukraine. The preparations for a world war must be stopped.”

Stating that many European and North Atlantic leaders are in a war psychology and see themselves as being in direct opposition to Russia, Szijjarto expressed that the Hungarian government does not view itself as a party to the conflict with Ukraine.

"THE SITUATION IS WORSENING FOR UKRAINE"

Holding a press conference on the sidelines of the meeting in Luxembourg, Szijjarto said, “The situation for Ukraine has been worsening almost continuously for the last two years. This situation has deteriorated even further in the last few weeks. The participants do not question the degree of Russia's weapons superiority.”

Criticizing the EU's plans for further arms shipments to Ukraine, Szijjarto stated, “Brussels is responding to the worsening situation on the front line in Ukraine by preparing for a new world war.”
