"If Netanyahu's agenda is not cancelled, 2024 will be a year of death"
Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi stated that if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's agenda in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank is not cancelled, 2024 will be a "year of death."
In a statement on the social media platform X, Safadi said, "In 2023, Israel subjected Gaza to horrific war crimes, and the United Nations Security Council did nothing to stop it."
Stating that this reveals an "international system struggling with double standards," the Jordanian Minister noted the following:
"Unless the Israeli Prime Minister's agenda of leaving Gaza in flames, setting the West Bank and Lebanon on fire, dragging the West into war, and saving his own career is cancelled, 2024 will be a year of death."
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has not yet made a statement regarding Safadi's post.
GAZA AFTER OCTOBER 7
The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, launched a comprehensive attack on Israel on October 7, citing the need to "respond to continuous violations against Palestinians and sacred values, especially the Al-Aqsa Mosque."
Israel announced that 1,200 Israelis were killed and 5,132 people were injured in the October 7 attacks.
In Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip, 21,822 Palestinians, including at least 9,100 children and 6,500 women, have been killed, and 56,451 people have been injured. While it is reported that thousands of bodies remain under the rubble, civilian infrastructure is being destroyed by targeting hospitals and educational institutions where the public has taken shelter.
The Israeli army announced that 506 of its soldiers have been killed since the start of its attacks on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 172 of whom were killed during the ground invasion process.
During the "humanitarian pause" in the clashes, which was granted for 4 days on November 24 and later extended for another 3 days, 81 Israeli and 240 Palestinian prisoners were released in exchange. On the other hand, Israel has continued to detain and imprison thousands of Palestinians.
In the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, 319 Palestinians have lost their lives in attacks by Israeli forces and illegal Jewish settlers.
In the clashes that have been ongoing on the border between the Israeli army and Hezbollah since October 8, 28 Lebanese civilians, 134 Hezbollah members, 5 Israeli civilians, and 9 Israeli soldiers have been killed.
