Important conversation between Trump and Maduro
It has been reported that U.S. President Donald Trump spoke by phone with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro last week.
Officials who were not named shared information that Trump and Maduro discussed the possibility of a bilateral meeting over the phone last week.
The officials stated that as a result of the phone call, which took place during a period when the U.S. continues to threaten military intervention against Venezuela, there is currently no plan for a meeting between the two leaders.
The New York Times report emphasized that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio also participated in the phone call in question.
On the other hand, the report noted that both the White House and the Venezuelan government declined to comment on the meeting.
However, it was noted that "two people close to the Venezuelan government" confirmed the conversation between the two leaders.
