Indian youth draws attention with ability to read and write 400 languages

Young prodigy Mahmood Akram from India is drawing attention with his extraordinary talent for language learning. At just 19 years old, Akram is pushing boundaries in this field by developing the ability to read and write in 400 different languages.

Known for his interest in languages from a young age, Akram reached this level through hours of daily study.

Akram has not limited himself to modern languages, expanding his knowledge base by learning ancient languages such as Sanskrit, Latin, and Aramaic. Akram states that he achieved this success through memory techniques and disciplined study methods. However, Akram's goals go beyond language learning; he wants to build bridges between cultures and keep endangered languages alive.

IN THE SAME CLASS WITH STUDENTS FROM 39 DIFFERENT NATIONS

Mahmood Akram continues his education at three different universities. While pursuing a bachelor's degree in Linguistics at the Open University in Milton Keynes, England, he is also studying English Literature and Animation at Alagappa University in India. During this process, he experiences cultural diversity by sharing the same classroom with students from 39 different nations.

The young talent aims to participate in global projects regarding language education and to instill a love of language in new generations. Akram continues his work in line with these goals and remains a source of inspiration worldwide.

Mahmood's language learning journey began at the age of four under the guidance of his father, Shilbee Mozhippriyan. His father also knows 16 languages and has been a significant source of inspiration for his son in this field. It is noted that Mahmood learned the English alphabet in six days and the 299 characters of the Tamil alphabet in three weeks.

At the age of eight, Akram broke a world record as the youngest multilingual typist. At ten, he achieved a second world record by translating the Indian national anthem into 20 different languages within one hour. At twelve, he earned a third world record by demonstrating that he could read and write 400 languages.
