International Atomic Energy Agency withdraws inspectors from Iran

In a statement made on the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) social media account, it was stated that the agency's inspectors in Iran have left the country.

The statement read, "A team of IAEA inspectors, having remained in Tehran throughout the recent military conflict, safely departed Iran today and returned to the agency's headquarters in Vienna.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi reiterated that it is of vital importance for the IAEA to engage with Iran to resume its indispensable monitoring and verification activities in the country as soon as possible."

IRAN HAD TERMINATED COOPERATION

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian recently approved the "bill on suspending cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency," which was passed by the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran. In a statement, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said, "The IAEA has lost its international credibility by even refraining from condemning the attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities. Therefore, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran will suspend cooperation with the Agency until the security of nuclear facilities is fully ensured."

According to the new law, UN inspectors will not be permitted to visit nuclear facilities without the approval of Iran's Supreme National Security Council.
