Iran-backed groups attack US base
US forces responded to a rocket attack by Iran-backed groups on the west bank of the Euphrates River in Syria against a US base.
According to information obtained from local sources, Iran-backed terrorist groups stationed in the Mayadin district launched at least 3 rocket attacks on the base at the Omar Oil Field, where US forces are deployed in the region under PKK/YPG occupation.
US forces responded to the attack with surface-to-surface fire against the positions of the Iran-backed groups approximately 25 kilometers away.
The US has not yet made a statement regarding the attack.
TARGETED BY UAVS
US military bases in Hasakah and Deir ez-Zor have been frequently targeted since the beginning of the year by rockets and kamikaze unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of unknown origin.
The territory of Deir ez-Zor east of the Euphrates River is under the occupation of the US-backed terrorist organization PKK/YPG, while the city center and other rural areas are under the control of the Bashar al-Assad regime and Iran-backed groups.
