Iran closes Strait of Hormuz, stops 2 oil tankers
After negotiations between the US and Iran in Islamabad failed to reach a consensus, the Iranian administration closed the Strait of Hormuz to ship traffic again this morning and did not allow two oil tankers to pass.
Tensions have risen once again in the Strait of Hormuz, known as the heart of energy transportation in the Middle East. US and Iranian delegations had met in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, to resolve the crisis, but the parties were unable to reach an agreement during the talks.
Following the failure of diplomatic efforts, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps took a significant step this morning by stopping two oil tankers passing through the strait.
