Iran denies 'negotiation' claim from the US

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei denied US President Donald Trump's statement that "Iran wants to continue negotiations." According to the official Iranian news agency IRNA, Baghaei said, "The Islamic Republic of Iran has not made any request for negotiations with the US."

Baghaei stated that the memorandum of understanding signed between the parties last month has been repeatedly violated by the US, noting that Iran's policy is based on the principle of "commitment for commitment." Baghaei expressed that if Washington violates its commitments, Iran will respond with "reciprocal actions."

US President Donald Trump had stated in a post on his social media account in the past few hours, "Iran wanted to continue negotiations. We agreed to this, but the US informed them in no uncertain terms that the ceasefire is over."
