Iran: Despite blockade, Iranian ship crosses the Sea of Oman and reaches the country

While ship traffic in and around the Strait of Hormuz has been significantly disrupted due to the naval blockade imposed by the U.S. on Iran, Iran has announced that a cargo ship has reached the country despite the blockade.

In reports featured in the Iranian press, it was stated that "an Iranian bulk carrier ship carrying rice, despite an attempt by the U.S. Navy to seize it, passed safely through the Sea of Oman escorted by elements of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy and reached Iran."

U.S. naval blockade continues

U.S. President Donald Trump had previously stated in his remarks that the naval blockade against Iran would continue despite the ceasefire, emphasizing that the U.S. Navy would continue its inspection activities in the region.

Iranian officials, in their own statements, had declared that they would not allow the country's maritime trade to be interrupted and that military elements would escort ships when necessary.
