Iran reacts to US blockade of Strait of Hormuz: 'A regrettable response'
Iranian Defense Ministry Spokesperson Reza Talayi Nik reacted to the US naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, stating, "Any military intervention will escalate the crisis in global energy security and increase instability."
Following the launch of a US naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a reaction has come from Iran.
Iranian Defense Ministry Spokesperson Reza Talayi Nik stated in his remarks that the security and management of the Strait of Hormuz belong to Iran, adding, "The interference of foreign powers in the security of international waterways in the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman will have dangerous consequences for the region and the world. In this context, any military intervention will escalate the crisis in global energy security and increase instability."
Harsh criticism of Trump
Targeting US President Donald Trump, Talayi Nik said, "Just as in his previous failed attempts, Trump will lead the US to another defeat regarding military intervention in the waterways of the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman. Trump's excessive demands and his acting on behalf of Netanyahu and the Zionist regime are dragging the US into a deeper quagmire and new failures."
"The response will be decisive and regrettable"
Emphasizing Iran's sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, Talayi Nik stated, "Within the framework of its full sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, Iran will not allow any interference or aggression by the US and other foreign military forces, and will respond to such attempts in a decisive and regrettable manner."
Baghaei emphasizes 'global economy'
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei, in a post on his social media account following the blockade, criticized the steps taken by the US, asking, "Can an 'act of revenge' targeting the global economy win an 'illegal war'? Is it logical to harm oneself for the sake of harming others?"
