Iran responds to Trump's letter via Oman

Iran has provided an official response to the letter written by US President Donald Trump to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced in a statement that the response to Trump's letter was delivered via Oman.

Stating that Iran's response was sent yesterday, Araghchi said, "This official response includes Iran's views on the current situation and a document containing detailed explanations regarding Trump's letter."

Emphasizing that Iran will not engage in direct negotiations under maximum pressure and military threats, Araghchi stated, "However, as in the past, indirect negotiations can continue. Such talks were conducted during the terms of both former President Rouhani and the late President Raisi."

LETTER FROM TRUMP TO KHAMENEI

US President Donald Trump had sent a letter to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, stating in his letter that he wanted to negotiate a nuclear deal with Iran, saying, "I said I hope you negotiate. Because it will be much better for Iran. I think they are also waiting for the letter.

The other alternative is that we have to do something. Because you cannot allow another nuclear weapon," he had said.

Subsequently, Trump's letter was delivered to Khamenei by Anwar Gargash, advisor to the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. In a program he attended on state television, Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi made statements regarding Trump's letter, saying, "The letter mainly contains threats but also claims that some so-called opportunities exist. We have worked on all aspects of the letter and examined every point carefully. All these aspects will be taken into account in the response to be given, and both the threats and the opportunities will be considered."
