The Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA), established by Iran, issued a statement regarding the control zone over the Strait of Hormuz and shared a photograph of the area in question.

In the statement made by the PGSA, it was said, "Iran has defined the jurisdictional boundaries regarding the administration of the Strait of Hormuz as follows:

'The line connecting Mount Mubarak in Iran on the eastern side of the strait to the south of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates, and the line connecting the southern tip of Qeshm Island in Iran on the western side of the strait to Umm Al Quwain in the United Arab Emirates. For navigation in this area for the purpose of passing through the Strait of Hormuz, coordination with the PGSA and permission from this institution are required.'
