Statement from Iran on its nuclear program: 'Hear our rising voice'

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that they have adopted a government policy based on constructive interaction with the world, economic development, and reform, which is why he has gained the trust of the Iranian people and wants Iran to play a role in the new world order.

Stating that Iran is ready to return to the nuclear deal, Pezeshkian used the following expressions:

'We are ready to enter into a constructive dialogue with other countries that are parties to the nuclear deal. If they also fulfill their commitments in the agreement, negotiations can be held on other issues as well. I hope this voice rising from Iran is heard and finds a response. The response to this call of ours should be the lifting of the heavy economic sanctions against our country, not the imposition of more sanctions.'

Noting that Iran wants peace instead of war in the world and the region, Pezeshkian touched upon the Russia-Ukraine war. Pezeshkian said, 'We want peace for the peoples of Russia and Ukraine. We support any initiative and dialogue that will end this war and ensure peace between the two countries.'

'THE MASSACRE MUST BE STOPPED BEFORE IT SPREADS'

Touching upon Israel's attacks on Gaza and Lebanon, Pezeshkian's call for the massacre to be stopped also drew attention.

The Iranian President reacted to the ongoing war and the strikes on Lebanon with these words:

'The Israeli regime targets hospitals, schools, and civilian residential areas, and this is considered a right to self-defense. People who object to and react to these attacks and war crimes are accused of being anti-Semitic. A downtrodden people who resist Israeli occupation and defend themselves against war crimes are seen as terrorists.' Pezeshkian warned that if Israel's attacks on Lebanon and Gaza continue, the fire of war will spread to the region, stating, 'The massacre and madness that the Israeli regime has started in Lebanon must be stopped before it spreads to the region and the world. A permanent ceasefire must be achieved as soon as possible and this regime must be reined in. The Zionist Israeli regime suffered a heavy defeat in Gaza, and this regime's efforts to compensate for this defeat by spreading the war to the region are in vain. It is quite natural for the massacres of the Israeli regime, which has caused thousands of civilians to lose their lives and be injured with its latest attacks, to be reacted to and responded to.'

'ISRAEL'S ATTACKS WILL NOT GO UNANSWERED'

Stating that Israel's attacks targeting Iran will not go unanswered, Pezeshkian said, 'It is the Israeli regime that targets names who are guests in our country with assassinations, organizes terrorist attacks against our scientists, and provides open and secret support to terrorist organizations, especially ISIS, in the region. The attacks of this regime against Iran and Lebanon will not go unanswered.'

'WE ARE NOT SEEKING A FIGHT'

Reiterating that Iran is not in favor of war, Pezeshkian concluded his speech with these words:

'In history, Iran has never been the side that started wars; we have always defended our lands against attacks on our country. We have always been open to cooperation for peace and stability in the region, and we have presented our peace plans to many regional and global international organizations. By emphasizing strong regional cooperation, we have aimed for the common development of the countries in the region. We are not a source of tension for other countries; we are only obligated to ensure the security of our own country. We are not seeking war or a fight with anyone.'
