The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that its response to the proposals presented by Washington in the ongoing negotiation process with the US will be conveyed through intermediaries.
Speaking to Iran's official news agency IRNA, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that Tehran's position regarding ending the war and restoring regional security is "clear."
Baghaei noted that the conditions Iran has set forth to "end the imposed war on all fronts and restore security in the Persian Gulf region and the Strait of Hormuz" have been clearly expressed.
Noting that the necessary response to the US proposals will be provided through intermediaries, Baghaei emphasized that the message traffic between the two countries is not conducted directly. Baghaei said, "The exchange of messages is being carried out through intermediaries."
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced a 7-day plan last week during his visit to New York regarding the opening of the Strait of Hormuz and halting the war. It was reported that the Tehran administration had conveyed the plan to the US through intermediaries and that the US side had also presented its views on the plan.
Iran's 7-day plan envisions the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz if the US meets certain conditions, followed by the initiation of final agreement negotiations.
