Iranian dissidents celebrate Raisi's death

The helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian crashed in a forested area.

A total of 9 people, including Raisi and Amir-Abdollahian, lost their lives in the crash. 

Raisi's death was met with joy among opposition groups in the country.

Opposition groups, who have been fighting against the murders and executions committed by the regime—most notably the death of Mahsa Amini, who lost her life after being detained by the 'morality police' in Iran—took to the streets following Raisi's death.

Iranian dissidents who came to the front of the Iranian Embassy in London, the capital of England, showed their joy with flags. 

Journalist and human rights activist Masih Alinejad, responding to reactions regarding the celebration videos, said, "Why should I hide my feelings when many young Iranians, especially women who were injured in the uprisings, are sharing videos of themselves dancing with joy over his death? We will fight for our freedom, our democracy, and our dignity until the day we are rid of Khamenei and his religious dictatorship."
