While the agreement reached between the US and Iran has increased hopes for lasting peace, a notable development has occurred in the region. Iran's Mehr News Agency reported that 3 explosion sounds were heard near the Strait of Hormuz.
It was noted that the explosions, which occurred south of Qeshm Island and on the borders of the Strait of Hormuz, may have been carried out to "control maritime traffic in the strait."
It was emphasized that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and local institutions have not yet made an official statement regarding the matter.
