Iranian official responds to Trump: 'We will target infrastructure'
An Iranian military source stated that if the U.S. attacks infrastructure in Iran, such as bridges or power plants, they will retaliate against numerous infrastructure and energy facilities linked to U.S. interests in the region.
Speaking to the Tasnim News Agency, an unnamed Iranian military official responded to U.S. President Donald Trump's threat that they would attack transportation and energy infrastructure if Iran were to attack any ship in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Iranian official stated that if the U.S. attacks infrastructure in Iran, such as bridges or power plants, Tehran will respond by targeting infrastructure, bridges, and energy facilities linked to U.S. interests in the region.
Emphasizing that the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz would be safe if it takes place with Iran's regulations and coordination, the Iranian official stated that otherwise, Iran would not abandon its determination to control the strait and would show the necessary reaction.
U.S. President Trump had stated in his remarks, "From now on, every time the Islamic Republic of Iran fires at a ship in the Strait of Hormuz with a missile, rocket, drone, or any other device or weapon, the United States will bomb and destroy a bridge or power plant, including those located around or inside the capital, Tehran."
