Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, in his assessment regarding the conditions they conveyed to the US for the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, stated that these conditions must be implemented for the Washington administration to be trusted.
According to the semi-official Tasnim News Agency, Ghalibaf met in the capital Tehran with Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff Asım Münir, who plays a role in the mediation process between Iran and the US.
Criticizing the US stance toward Iran during the meeting, Ghalibaf said, "The US cannot win Iran's trust unless it implements the 7 conditions. Military threats and provocations cannot influence our decisions."
EXISTING MISTRUST IS GROWING
Stating that Iran has not trusted the US for a long time, Ghalibaf said that Washington's failure to fulfill its obligations under the memorandum of understanding is increasing the existing mistrust. Arguing that the US is "dragging itself into a quagmire" with its attacks on Iran, Ghalibaf stated that the necessary steps to exit this situation must be taken by Washington.
Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff Munir also met with Mohsen Rezaee, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, as part of his contacts in Tehran.
In this meeting, Rezaee emphasized that enriched nuclear materials would not be taken out of Iran under any circumstances. Describing the materials in question as an important asset for Iran, Rezaee said that no negotiations would be entered into unless trust is provided by the US and that Iran's conditions must be met.
