Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, in a social media post addressed to the US administration and public, argued that a potential war with Iran would not benefit Washington.
In his post, Ghalibaf used an image referencing the film "The Matrix." The Iranian official stated that a potential conflict would create economic and military costs for the US, pointing to consequences such as stock market declines, the downing of warplanes, increases in debt and inflation, and rising military casualties.
Stating that those in the US who think a war with Iran would be profitable are mistaken, Ghalibaf described the war option in his post as a choice containing "entirely bad" outcomes.
All 10 pills are bad; there is no red or blue, they are all pitch black and you do not have to take any of them. But if you do take them, you will have taken them all at once; break the manufactured matrix and get out.
Ghalibaf's message came at a time when debates regarding the regional security and economic impacts of the tension between Tehran and Washington are ongoing.
