Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated during a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron that "a potential Israeli attack on Lebanon would have severe consequences."
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments.
According to a statement released by the Iranian Presidency, Pezeshkian conveyed that they are ready to develop bilateral relations with France within the framework of mutual trust and respect, and are prepared for negotiations regarding the lifting of sanctions against Iran.
During the call, Pezeshkian stated, "The International Atomic Energy Agency's 15 reports state that Iran has fulfilled the commitments it made in the nuclear deal.
However, the Americans not only failed to fulfill any of their commitments but also unilaterally withdrew from the nuclear deal and imposed harsh and cruel sanctions on Iran," he said.
"AN ISRAELI ATTACK ON LEBANON WOULD HAVE SEVERE CONSEQUENCES"
Touching upon regional developments, Pezeshkian pointed to the rising tensions between Hezbollah and Israel in Lebanon, stating that an Israeli attack on Lebanon would be a major mistake.
Pezeshkian said, "A potential Israeli attack on Lebanon would have severe consequences.
Iran is ready to take any step to ensure peace and stability in the region, especially in Gaza. The Zionist Israeli regime has not adhered to any international or humanitarian law, committing all kinds of massacres and crimes against Palestinians in the lands it has occupied for more than 75 years," he added.
