Iranian television channels broadcast 'call to uprising'

A cyberattack has been carried out on Iranian television. During the cyberattack on satellite broadcasts in Iran, a call for an uprising was made.

In the attack, the broadcasts of multiple state television channels were interrupted, and footage containing calls for anti-government protests and messages "inviting the public to take to the streets" were aired. The Iranian press stated that the Farsat and IRIB TV3 channels were affected by the cyberattack.

Iranian authorities reported that only those receiving broadcasts via satellite were affected by the cyberattack, explaining that satellite signals can be interfered with from the outside. Officials have not yet released a statement regarding the scope of the infiltration into the broadcast stream or who was responsible.
