Iran's move on the Strait of Hormuz: It will facilitate passage

Ali Bahreini, Iran's Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva, made a statement regarding the passage of ships carrying humanitarian aid through the Strait of Hormuz at the request of the UN.

In his statement, Bahreini said, "As Iran, based on good faith and in line with the principles of humanitarian law, we have decided to facilitate and further expedite the safe passage of ships carrying humanitarian aid through the Strait of Hormuz in response to the UN's request.

This step is a demonstration of our commitment to supporting humanitarian aid efforts and ensuring that those in need have access to necessary aid without delay."

Touching upon the process regarding the implementation of the decision, Bahreini stated, "Operational arrangements for the implementation of this decision will be finalized in coordination with the UN at an appropriate time. As the Islamic Republic of Iran, we are firmly committed to ensuring the security and stability of the Strait of Hormuz for all countries that do not maintain a hostile stance."
