Iran's official response to US ceasefire proposal: 10-point list of conditions presented

Iran's official news agency IRNA announced that the Tehran administration has responded to the US proposal to end the war via Pakistan.

IRAN'S 10-POINT CEASEFIRE CONDITIONS

According to IRNA, while presenting a 10-point list of conditions, Iran clearly stated that it does not accept a ceasefire under current circumstances. The Tehran administration emphasized that instead of temporary solutions, the war must be permanently ended through the fulfillment of its demands.

DEMAND FOR A PROTOCOL FOR SAFE PASSAGE THROUGH HORMUZ

One of the prominent topics in Iran's response was the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran demanded a protocol that would guarantee safe passage through the strait once the conflicts in the region are ended.

According to IRNA's report, Iran's demands included "the lifting of economic sanctions" and "support for the post-war reconstruction process." The reconstruction of Tehran was also among the demands.

IRNA reported that in its message, Iran underscored that its demands must be respected and emphasized that a solution could be possible within this framework.

According to the prepared plan, the process was to proceed in two stages. The first stage aimed for the parties to declare a ceasefire, and the second stage aimed to reach a comprehensive agreement. The parties were given approximately 20 days to achieve a wide-ranging peace process. The final negotiations were planned to be held face-to-face in Islamabad.

US President Donald Trump had extended the 48-hour deadline he gave the Tehran administration to reach a deal until April 8.
