Is Netanyahu being removed from office?

Meirav Cohen, a member of the opposition Yesh Atid (There is a Future) Party in Israel, has called for the removal of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, describing him as a "millstone" around the neck of the state.

In a video posted on the X platform, Member of Parliament Cohen stated that it pained her to say these words in the middle of a war, but that there was no other choice.

"NETANYAHU IS A FAILURE"

Cohen stated, "When a Prime Minister (Netanyahu) fails, continues to fail, and proves that he is not fit for this position, that he is the wrong person in the wrong place at the wrong time, he must be replaced immediately. The British taught us this on May 10, 1940, about 9 months after the start of World War II, when they replaced their Prime Minister, Neville Chamberlain."

Noting that some would say "now is not the time," Cohen remarked, "But what would the world be like today if (former British Prime Minister Winston) Churchill had not replaced Chamberlain during the war and formed a unity government in Britain? Netanyahu is a failure."

"A MILLSTONE AROUND THE NECK OF THE STATE"

Stating that Netanyahu has failed to solve the problems of Israelis who evacuated their homes in the south and north of the country following the war, Cohen argued that the 2023 budget, which she claimed saw the public treasury plundered to keep the ruling coalition afloat, was a failure in terms of security.

Cohen remarked, "As Prime Minister, Netanyahu has become a millstone around the neck of the State of Israel and its society."
