Israel announces it has killed Al-Qassam spokesperson Abu Obeida

The Israeli military has announced that Abu Obeida, the spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, was killed in a recent attack on Gaza.

Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz shared a photo of Abu Obeida on his social media account, stating, "The spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades was killed during an operation in Gaza."

Katz also stated that attacks on Gaza would continue to intensify and that more high-ranking Hamas officials would be targeted.

NETANYAHU'S "WE TARGETED HIM" MESSAGE

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also stated in a speech before a cabinet meeting that Hamas spokesperson Abu Obeida had been targeted in an attack they carried out on Gaza.

The Israeli military, the IDF, made a similar statement, claiming that Abu Obeida had been killed.

HAMAS REMAINS SILENT

There has been no official statement from Hamas following the claims. Hamas is expected to make a statement regarding Abu Obeida in the coming hours.
