Israel's attacks on Gaza, which began on October 7, continue unabated.
While Western countries remain cautious regarding a potential military operation in the south of the city, Israel, which struck the southern city of Rafah with an airstrike in the morning hours, has also launched an operation in the Khan Yunis region.
According to a report by Al Jazeera; Israeli snipers are conducting operations in the Khan Yunis region and areas to its west.
The Palestine Red Crescent Center and the Mubarak, Al Amal, and Nasser hospitals are located in the western part of the Khan Yunis region. There is concern that the operation being carried out in the area will cause heavy civilian casualties.
Reporter Hani Mahmoud stated that snipers were firing at displaced Palestinians who were trying to flee toward Nasser hospital.
While it is reported that at least 21 people have been killed, it is also alleged that healthcare workers are being targeted.
According to local sources, Israeli soldiers are blockading Nasser hospital.
THE US HAD SAID "NO" TO AN OPERATION IN THE SOUTH
The US Department of State had previously announced that they did not support an operation in the southern regions of Gaza on the grounds that it could cause a 'humanitarian crisis'.
However, Israel continued its operations following the statement.
There is concern that a large number of Palestinians will be displaced if Israel expands its operations.
