Israel closes entry and exit points from the West Bank to East Jerusalem
Israel has closed all military-controlled crossing points from the West Bank to East Jerusalem.
According to the official Palestinian news agency WAFA, it has been reported that Israel has closed all military-controlled crossing points from the West Bank to East Jerusalem.
It was stated that all entry and exit to Jerusalem has been completely blocked, citizens are being held at the crossing points, and there is heavy traffic on the roads leading into Jerusalem.
It is understood that Israel has also closed transit routes in certain parts of the occupied West Bank.
OPERATION HAD BEEN ANNOUNCED
The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, announced this morning that they had launched an operation against Israel called "Al-Aqsa Flood" and that they had fired 5 thousand rockets and mortars in the first phase.
The Israeli army also announced that it had begun an offensive toward the blockaded Gaza Strip, from where the rockets were launched, starting from the morning hours.
Israeli media reported that 5 people had lost their lives and over 100 people had been injured as a result of the rocket attacks launched from Gaza.
