Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said that Israel will not be launching a ground operation into Lebanon in the near future.

While Israel's airstrikes on Lebanon have continued since September 23, US Department of Defense (Pentagon) Press Secretary Sabrina Singh stated that Israel is not expected to launch a ground operation into Lebanon in the near future.

In her statement, Singh said, “We absolutely do not want to see any steps taken that could lead to further escalation of tensions in the region. We want to see a diplomatic solution that will prevent an all-out war.”

Singh also added that the US is not providing intelligence support to Israel for its attacks on Lebanon.

On the other hand, Israeli Chief of General Staff Herzi Halevi had told troops on the Lebanese border that the ongoing airstrikes on Lebanon were intended to prepare the ground for a potential ground operation by the troops.
