Israel-Hezbollah clashes escalate: Intense rocket attacks launched on Haifa

Following Israel's recent intense attacks on Lebanon, Hezbollah launched heavy rocket attacks on the area surrounding the Israeli city of Haifa starting last night and continuing into this morning.

In a video message, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened Hezbollah, stating, "Israel has dealt Hezbollah a series of blows it could not have imagined. If they haven't gotten the message, I promise they will. We are determined to return the residents of the north safely to their homes."

Stating that no country in the world, including their own, could "accept their cities being subjected to rocket fire," Netanyahu expressed that they would "do whatever is necessary" to restore security and safely return the 60,000 Israelis evacuated from the Lebanese border to their homes.

'CONTINUING OPERATIONS'

Meanwhile, according to a statement from the Israeli Government Press Office, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant received a briefing from Israeli Air Force Commander Tomer Bar during a visit to the air force's command and control center.

Gallant stated, "Hezbollah has begun to feel the impact of the Israeli military's capabilities; they feel they are being pursued. Our operations will continue until we reach the point that ensures the safe return of the residents of northern Israel to their homes."

Clashes between the Israeli army and Lebanon's Hezbollah along the border, which have been ongoing since October 8, have reached a peak in recent days. Lebanon's Hezbollah announced that it had targeted the Ramat David military base near the northern city of Haifa and the headquarters of the Israeli defense industry company Rafael in the region since the night hours. There were injuries and material damage caused by rockets hitting several locations in northern Israel.

The Israeli army also conducted airstrikes on targets inside Lebanon that it claimed belonged to Hezbollah.

AIRSTRIKE ON BEIRUT

In an airstrike conducted by the Israeli army on the southern suburbs of Beirut on September 20, 45 people, including 7 women and 3 children, lost their lives. Hezbollah announced that 15 of its members, including senior military commander Ibrahim Akil, were killed in the attack.

The international community is warning that a regional war could break out in the face of Israel's successive attacks.

Israel lists the safe return of its citizens evacuated from northern regions along the Lebanese border to their homes as one of the "goals of the war." Conversely, Lebanon's Hezbollah emphasizes that the clashes in the region will only end if Israel's attacks on Gaza cease.
