Israel is looking for Turkish-speaking personnel

The Israeli press has announced that the country's internal security agency, Shin Bet, has published a job advertisement to hire Turkish-speaking individuals. According to a report by the Israeli state broadcaster Kann News, Turkey's role in the region and its stance toward Israel have recently come under greater scrutiny.

''TURKEY'S STANCE HAS CHANGED''

The news site Jfeed reported that since October 7, Turkey has been pursuing a tougher policy against Israel and that this situation is being closely monitored in Israel. The report recalled that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan joined the genocide case filed by South Africa against Israel at the International Court of Justice and that Turkey has suspended all trade with Israel until the war in Gaza ends.

''THE BALANCE OF POWER IN SYRIA HAS CHANGED''

The report claimed that until a few months ago, Turkey was not considered a direct security threat to Israel, but that the increased effectiveness of Turkish-backed forces in Syria has changed this situation.

The Israel-Alma Center, a think tank that conducts security analyses for Israel, stated that Turkey could pose a potential threat to Israel.

''TWO POSSIBLE SCENARIOS''

The Alma Center alleged that Turkey could provide support to anti-Israel proxy forces and direct formations in Syria. Another possibility mentioned was that Turkey could directly use its arsenal of long-range missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles against Israel.

The report also included the claim that Turkey possesses an increasingly large ballistic missile arsenal and that this could pose a strategic threat to Israel.
