Israel launches 'Iron Dome' investigation

In a statement from the Israeli military, it was stated: "An investigation has been launched following footage showing an Iron Dome interceptor missile failing and falling into central Israel."

The statement, which pointed to the possibility of a "technical malfunction" in the Iron Dome defense system, noted that there were no casualties in the incident.

A report by the Times of Israel newspaper indicated that the interceptor missile was fired against a large number of rockets launched from the Gaza Strip toward Tel Aviv.

Local Israeli media had reported that an interceptor missile fired from the defense systems had fallen into the central part of the country.

The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, had announced that they fired a large number of rockets at Tel Aviv in response to Israel's attacks on civilians in the blockaded Gaza Strip.

The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, launched a comprehensive attack on the morning of October 7, citing the need to "respond to Israel's continuous violations against Palestinians and their sacred values, especially the Al-Aqsa Mosque," while the Israeli military began an intense aerial bombardment of the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli military has struck the campuses or main buildings of dozens of hospitals in Gaza where tens of thousands of wounded and civilians have taken refuge, in order to forcibly evacuate them. PRISONER EXCHANGE AGREEMENT BETWEEN HAMAS AND ISRAEL

The agreement for a 4-day "humanitarian pause" in the clashes between Israel and Hamas went into effect on Friday, November 24, at 07:00 (08:00 Turkish time) and was later extended for another 3 days.

Within the framework of the prisoner exchange agreement reached between Israel and Hamas, 81 Israeli prisoners from the Gaza Strip and 240 Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prisons were released.

The Israeli military resumed its attacks on the Gaza Strip immediately after the "humanitarian pause" ended on December 1.
