In this context, it was stated that Israel has proposed laser systems to Greece that could also be used as UAV defense systems, and that the Greek Armed Forces are currently evaluating this proposal.

The report further stated that Israeli firms have also proposed high-tech "killer drone" type UAVs that can be easily deployed even on small, uninhabited islands, are battery-operated, capable of collecting data, and can take action against potential threats when necessary.

The report noted that Athens welcomed the European Union's (EU) plan to create an anti-drone defense wall covering its external borders by 2027, and conveyed that Greece has expressed the view that the Turkish defense industry should not be included in these systems.

"MOST NATO COUNTRIES SUPPORT TURKEY"

Pointing out that many NATO member countries view Turkey as a country that contributes to the alliance's deterrent power due to the Turkish defense industry's experience in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles, the report stated that despite opposition from Greece, France, and the Greek Cypriot Administration (GCA) within the EU, Germany, Spain, and Italy support Turkey.

The report also emphasized that Greece is attempting to modernize its aging air defense systems and is advancing its cooperation with Israel in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles.
